Dear CEOs, My name is Kim Hyun Soo, the new Head PD of CounterSide. Today, I am here to discuss the upcoming updates for the first half of 2023. [ New Co-Op Battle Boss: Tyrant Gigas ] The new Co-Op Battle Boss, Tyrant Gigas is planned to be featured at the start of May 2023. Tyrant Gigas is a superior type of Tyrant Sword and Tyrant Armor, which we hope will become a new challenge to all those who enjoy Co-Op Battles. The [Co-Op Battle Renewal] which was on the previous version of the roadmap is on hold. We concluded that the Co-Op Battle function itself is not serving its purpose to its full potential just yet. To compensate, to allow more CEOs to participate in the Co-Op Battle, we are currently renewing the consortium UI as well as adding in practice mode without any penalties. These features will be added at the end of April 2023 to allow CEOs to use this feature to practice the new boss, Tyrant Gigas. [ Guilty Gear – STRIVE – Collaboration ] On June 2023, a long-awaited collaboration with Guilty Gear – STRIVE – will begin! More detailed information on the collaboration will be released soon, but we can tell you this much that to maximize the attractiveness of Guilty Gear – STRIVE-, we are planning to alter the method of acquiring the collab units. Moreover, even though the collaboration is new to the Global Server, but is a rerun for the Korean server. Meaning, these collaboration units existed for quite a long time, hence some of the collaboration units are under consideration for a balance patch. What’s more, there will be an addition to the collaboration unit, hence please look forward to the event! [Jukebox System: Acquisition Condition Added] Towards the end of May, we are planning an update on the Jukebox System where conditions to acquire each BGM will be displayed on the screen. The main goal of the Jukebox System was to give CEOs a hidden achievement of sorts and provide excitement upon clearing hidden achievements, but at this point, we have concluded that the original intent was not working. [ Policies on Buffs & Debuffs ] Now I will explain a bit about the buff/debuff and status effects. Before explaining them, I’d like to modify a terminology, Debuff RES. Debuff RES is the upper concept of just Debuff and we’re going to change it to Status Effect RES. This change will be implemented in-game and we will notice it soon. The functions are extremely complicated and intertwined with each other. Under these circumstances, three statuses, stun does not get influenced by Nullify Buff/Debuff effects. However, CEOs will have no way of knowing this information in-game. Therefore, we are currently reviewing to improve the visibility or statuses that do not have any effect by Nullify Buff/Debuff, to quickly notify the CEOs what effect each unit is under. [ Gauntlet Event Mode ] We are also preparing a new gauntlet mode without having to worry about league downgrades. It will have a mode without applying gear stats, a mode where everyone can have a chance to use newly released units in a limited fashion, and more. We are coming up with more event modes to relieve stress from the PVP. [ Adjustments in the required Victory Points and League Downgrade] Starting from the first Courage season, a limited PVP skin was added as a reward. However, limited to the Master league the CEOs in the Masters did not get demoted at the start of the season reset, hence, they remained in that league. Therefore, starting from the Sincere season starting from June, CEOs in Masters will also get demoted along with the season reset. Also, we plan to adjust the required Victory Points to advance from one league to another. [ Upcoming Balance Patch ] We are gathering data from CEOs from the Platinum league and above of the Ranked Battle on the number of squad recruits, win rates, number of bans, and so on to pick on units to be balanced and adjusted around mid-April 2023. [ Collection Renewal ] Collection renewal is planned to be implemented at the start of August 2023. On this renewal, CEOs will be able to see all the bits and pieces of information that were scattered in the game in one place. Additionally, more detailed information and visual aids such as skill cut-ins of each character will be organized and added to the collection to help understand each character. [ Upcoming Substreams ] On the Global server, until the start of August 2023, the following Substreams will be released: The Moonless Night The Iron Knight Three to Three Neverland Nevermore Please look forward to all the stories that are going to be opened! Hello everyone, My name is Ryu Kum Tae, CEO of Studiobside. First, I personally wanted to say I am sincerely sorry for this update 6.0 to have turned out to have more holes than the swiss cheese from our developers when it was supposed to be a party for every CEO. The true intention behind the update 6.0 is to challenge ourselves to the next step with service transfer while maintaining the excitement while giving our CEOs the impression as if they are starting a new game along with our continuous investment in the game and to show our will to develop CounterSide for the better. However, the managerial staff and I may have forgotten that a bigger challenge must be done with more acute planning and preparedness. As we were in charge of the update development, we should have gone beyond our immature desire to show off something cool and provided a solid service that meets the expectation of our existing fans and players. We apologize once again to our CEOs for neglecting this most simple yet important element and being. I also want to apologize to our development team who have worked day and night on this update. Might be a little late, but regardless, based on this incident, not only the game itself but also the process of developing the game and the renewal of the team itself to make sure this blunder will not happen again. With the ongoing survey, we are delivering all opinions to the devs to come up with a solution that will improve the 6.0 update. To all the CEOs who are disappointed with the update and to CEOs who are still with us, I sincerely send my thanks. More details on the changes are explained below. < Upcoming> On the 15th of February, a data patch will be initiated to patch contents that can be fixed as soon as possible without an app update. Contents that need to be fixed through an app update will be marked as such . ● UI ■ In-game UI Adjustment To improve the visibility of the UI, we have reverted the color of the HP, barrier gauge, operator skill, and other UI to the original color. In addition, the black HUD overlay background is removed. ■ Battle Result UI Adjustment Tab placement at the bottom of the page is adjusted. Depending on the level of battle win condition acquired, a yellow medal is now displayed. ■ Operation UI The name of the tab at the bottom of each UI in the operation section will have its colors changed to improve its visibility. Depending on the level of battle win condition acquired, a yellow medal is now displayed. A fix where when the CEO exits from the operation or other stages, the page that the CEO land is not the last operation the CEO has done, but rather the main page of that event that the operation is in. Also, the number of rewards given to the CEOs will be increased in accordance with our newly released content. ■ Increase in Credit Drop Amount With the exception of the daily challenges, the number of rewards given will be increased and the details are listed below. Therefore, we are currently monitoring growth setbacks, resource accumulation sources, and its usage to adjust the overall efficiency to decide to increase the rate at which CEOs can gain credits. ■ Substream A fix where some of the normal stages were not skippable and the item drop rate was set lower than intended. Phase format stages are not skippable ■ Dimension Trimming Relic challenge, shadow palace, and dimension trimming’s clear rewards have been enhanced. Moreover, as relic challenge, shadow palace, and dimension trimming now require eternium to enter, the following rewards will be dropped from now on. The number of resources gained and such will differ depending on the level and the type of trimming the CEO is doing. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused and are planning to take back all the [Alex: *Drool*] emote with the refund of 250 quartz during the 15th of Feb. update. To add on, we are going to send an additional 500 quartz as an apology, where CEOs can receive in-game mailbox. We are sorry for the inconvenience once more. ● Rearmed Unit We have received numerous feedback regarding how we have picked the unit for the rearmament system. As mentioned in the Showcase, Gaeun was a seasonal selection. However, we will make sure to pick the rearm units considering the ongoing meta and such. At the beginning of January, when we were making the rearmed version of Gaeun, we found an issue with her level 5 special ability not being applied correctly. After the fix, this made her very overpowered and we thought a special measure was needed. Therefore, we have come to a conclusion to remake the original rearmed Gauen. On the 15th of Feb., Gaeun and her rearmed counterpart’s level 5 special ability will have their effect change from Stun Time by 1 second to Skill Cooldown by 2 seconds. This change will increase her combat capability increased overall. We are sorry for the inconvenience. ● Gauntlet Score System Change We have reviewed the feedback on the gauntlet score system, and we will make adjustments. However, it is difficult to change when the season is already ongoing. Therefore, the scoring system and master league reset will be done when the first half of the season is complete. We are also looking into normalizing the matching system and also to find a solution to relieve the stress to climb up the league. When the system is polished, we will release it through a separate announcement. There were also suggestions that league special skins be sold after the season. However, there were also an equal amount of suggestions not to. We will prepare a solution after we receive more opinions from our CEOs and share it with the community. ● UI, UX – Increase in visibility in Substream – Addition of shortcuts to move to each episode sector in the Substream – Tactical Update improvement review where multiple units can be selected at once – Removal of squad selection UX when doing a battle skip is in consideration. – Other UI display issue fixes. A small makeup for the update issue is given to all CEOs who have logged into the game after the maintenance for 3 days can receive the following: – 20,000 Eternium – SSR Unit Selection Coupon (KR / Global) – 100 Set Binaries It is difficult to review all the inquiries immediately at the same time, but we want to tell our CEOs that we are thoroughly considering every inquiry received to review and apply to future updates. Dear CEOs, This is the Head PD of CounterSide, Park Sang Yeon. Despite all the support CEOs have sent to us for the 6.0 update, I deeply apologize for not being able to deliver to meet the expectations. We are currently preparing the update based on the surveys and suggestions given through various channels to make the gaming environment more satisfactory to everyone. In this announcement, I am going to share some of the plans and questions that were asked. ▣ UI Renewal The main point of the UI renewal on the 6.0 update is to simplify and unify the design and to break the expansion limit. Regardless of the original intention, I am sorry for deleting some of the quality-of-life functions and lacking intuitiveness and quality. Based on the current suggestions that we have received; the following points below are to be improved as soon as possible. We are planning to implement the changes by the next update as much as we can. ■ Battle, Operation, Lobby, and other UI clarity improvement ■ Menu, Operation stage UX fixes ■ Red dots and other misleading informational errors ▣ Experience Gain Removal upon Stage Clear Starting from the 6.0 update, CounterSide’s presumption is to add a skip function to all substreams and other repeatable contents. On upcoming updates, we are going to remove the squad selection step to skip the operation to increase the approachability. This process is a small incremental step to the overall changes, and we are currently monitoring the flow of all the resources and the beginning segment of the growth of the company and units. In addition, we recognize that this won’t be enough, but starting from the second week of February, a discount on credit while salary negotiation and a discount of eternium spent on operations. To provide convenient daily content usage and a well-balanced growth system, we plan to continuously monitor through various means. ▣ Server Response Time To integrate Korean and Japanese servers, we have built a server system based on what we have already built for the Global server. When we tested it, the server operated at an optimal level, hence we have come to the conclusion that it was ready. However, on the day of the integration, the actual traffic we received was far more than we have anticipated, hence we were not able to meet our CEO’s expectations. I sincerely apologize once again for this. The errors that lasted until the 9th of February were unrelated to the server, but a code issue, and is now fixed. However, we are aware that the response time is not as optimal as before, and we are currently working on expanding the servers. We will make sure to resolve this issue as soon as possible. ▣ Dive Rewards For the Dive system, we have found that the rewards and the balance of the dive system are unsuitable during the final stages of the QA, and we are currently at it to improve the dive over the next 5 week period. We sincerely apologize for releasing the content before the content is fully polished. Dive clear rewards, auto play system, and other functions will be implemented as soon as possible. ▣ Unit Data Acquisition With the addition of Tactical Update, we have prepared a place for CEOs to spend duplicate units, hence we planned to make unit data not required when raising a unit. Rearmament currency such as Prime Rearmament Data has no use other than the rearmament system and is only needed when the new rearmament unit is released. Considering the average rearmament data CEOs have acquired so far and the rearmament unit release schedule, provision to new users with rearm currency to catch up to the existing users in practicality, is difficult. With the addition of the Tactical Update system, the value and the need for the duplicate unit are high. We expect that as the game service time accumulates, so will the rearmament data overall. We are planning to sporadically give out the rearmament data via events by continuing to monitor the acquisition of rearmament items and the usage pattern of the items. ▣ Tactical Update Effect With the Tactical Update, we are sorry for all the concerns regarding PVP. The purpose of the system was to break the limit of duplicate units piling up in the unit inventory. We understand the concerns the CEOs currently have. Hence, we have come up with as many backup plans and a specification that will not overpower the unit after the update. When performing the Tactical Update, the value the CEOs feel and the actual value of the growth in the unit is hard to separate. Therefore, as I have answered the question during the Showcase in the Q&A section, “the Tactical Update will help in PVP, but will not be the definite cause of winning in the match.” I also mentioned that “in PVE, the Tactical Update will not also be the definitive cause for being able to clear or not,” and this still holds true. The test was conducted in a PVP Strategy Battle, without any human interventions, and we have also considered numerous tests in mirror matches, matches with items and skill sets of different players, as well as unit role advantage situations, and have come up with the current stat increase. I am sorry for the confusion caused due to my lack of words explaining this important matter. I also recognize this answer will not satisfy our CEOs, hence I feel uneasiness inside. The mistake in the additional system for unit growth is completely on me. Therefore I will take all the blame and apologize. I will also take suggestions to improve the system for the better. If there are any additional issues caused by the system, I will do everything that I can to improve the system. ▣ Japanese Voice-Over Additions to the Global Server After the integration was decided for the Japanese server, we started a process to take over the local studio where we did the voice recordings. However, there was difficulty in casting voice actors and actresses on time due to schedule mismatches. Additional Japanese voices will be done locally under the dedicated studio’s directions in Korea. If exceptional cases arise, such as Awakened Shin Jia’s special skin, A Blossoming Desire, we will notify our CEOs beforehand to prevent any confusion regarding voices. I once again apologize as a head PD for this 6.0 update for not meeting our CEO’s expectations. I am aware that what is written here will not answer all the questions our CEOs have right now. Therefore, we will continue to monitor the community in every region to listen to our CEOs and improve CounterSide. Additionally, to be more proactive to collect thoughts our CEOs have, we are starting a survey. Dear CEOs,It has already been half a year since the launching of the CounterSide Global server.It is my great honor that I was able to introduce CounterSide to the Global audience. Today’s news is about the integration and in-house service of CounterSide’s KR and JP servers. In February of 2023, the publishing contract with Nexon will expire, hence the KR and JP servers will merge with the Global App while turning into an in-house service for KR and JP servers. After the integration, the application will give CEOs the option to choose between Korean and Global servers. Korean server has the longest servicing period and the most in-game content, hence the Korean server will continue to support only the Korean language. The Japanese server will completely integrate with the current Global server, where CEOs in the Japanese server will have the option to transfer the account to the Global server. For current Global CEOs, there will be no changes before and after the integration. We hope this integration and the expansion of in-house service could be taken as a festival for all of us. We are also planning a huge event for the integration. Other than some exclusive rewards for those who integrate into our Global application, the integration rewards will also be given to the Global server CEOs. For more details on the special event gifts, please look forward to the future announcements which will be posted for Global CEOs as well. Dear CEOs! This is PSY, Head PD of CounterSide. I am very grateful that our CEOs continuously show interest and love for the game! In this episode of Dev Notes, I am going to talk about what system updates are coming to the Global server and some other news. [Gauntlet System Update] Several improvements will be implemented for the current gauntlet system. In this update, matchmaking, Bans & Ups system, Gauntlet Strategic Battle UI, and other quality-of-life features are included. First, the Bans & Ups system. The current system’s ban makes banned units have higher deployment costs based on the number of bans they received with no leader bonus applied. Up makes units have lower deployment costs by 1, with a 10% increase in their overall stats and cooldown reduction. Now, even though banned units’ deployment costs are raised, there are some units that are still being utilized in the gauntlet due to their strong performances. Therefore, we plan to improve the Bans & Ups system to discourage not only using a particular set of strong units but also to give other units a chance to shine in the gauntlet once in a while. More specific details on the gauntlet update will be included in the future patch notes, but below is a brief list of what is soon to come. Gauntlet Bans & Ups system will be updated The number of up units will be increased to 4 Increased penalty for banned units per ban received Season score reset will change from hard reset for everyone to soft reset based on what the score was for each CEO. In a strategic gauntlet, information on the opponent will be clearer and easier to check. High ranking league in the ranked gauntlet, if matchmaking is still ongoing after a certain amount of time, the system will then search for CEOs who have similar team combat power. Before the match begins, if there are any units without equipment equipped, a warning pop-up will appear. [Other Improvements] Thank you all for sending in your opinions to develop CounterSide for the better! Among countless suggestions, we have selected some and applied them to the game ASAP. Some of them are: Function to customize each squad’s name. When the [Camera Tracking] option is turned off, the appearance of the opponent’s awakened units and other special events will not make the camera zoom in on that location. Addition of “Relic Gear” in the gear filter under Equip Type. We hope to see a continuous stream of suggestions coming in! [Collaboration] I am sure many of our CEOs are curious about who we are collaborating with. All the CounterSide development team is working hard day and night to make this special collaboration happen at the end of the year! Dear CEOs, We would like to share the new roadmap for the second half of 2022 with you, as well as some special news for the second half of the year. Thank you for all your positive reviews of CounterSide’s Steam launch. The reactions are a lot better than we expected and so are the number of players currently playing on Steam, so we are very pleased. As mentioned in the previous developer notes, the rhythm in which we’re pushing the global server forward can be very fast and burdensome, since we’d like to share all the contents that have been released during the two years of the Korean server as much as possible. However, we believe that events and rewards should be offered just as fast as these content updates. The event previously released to commemorate the first anniversary of the Korean server will also be released on the Global server along with the September 22nd update. The update will also contain an event that will offer our CEOs the chance to get a hold of an Awakened character, as well as very attractive skins. In addition, we are planning to hold other big commemorative events one after another until the end of the year. Through these, we expect to guarantee a huge amount of rewards and an enjoyable gaming experience for all. We are updating the game at a fast pace, so we understand that our CEOs might get tired. In order to relieve you from that fatigue, we have prepared a lot of rewards in the form of this Dinner Party event. Moreover, the new roadmap will follow our planned schedule until the end of the year, although we have it laid out until 1Q 2023. We hope you hold onto CounterSide for the remainder of that period! Please keep in mind that, due to the difference in the various servers’ update speeds, the released units and packages may be different. However, this Dinner Party event will still be an opportunity for our CEOs to get big special rewards. Up next is the update and event roadmap. We are getting ready to release a collaboration for the Global server, different from the ones already released on the Korean and Japanese servers. After pressing “ok,” a popup will appear where you can enter the business registration number. 6. If you have selected “Link Mobile Account” from STEAM, enter the business registration number from the mobile device and vice versa. 7. If you press “ok” after entering the business registration number, a popup with a verification code will appear. 8. On the other game client, the “enter link code” option should have been activated. Select it in order to enter the verification code. * Linking process may stop if you do not enter the verification code on time. 9. If you entered the verification code successfully, a popup will appear to let you select which account you want to link. On the popup, select the account you want to link. ★ ONCE SELECTED, THERE IS NO GOING BACK!THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY OF RETRIEVING THE OLD ACCOUNT!!CAREFULLY CONSIDER AND DOUBLE-CHECK BEFORE SELECTING THE ACCOUNT!!! ★ 10. A secondary popup will appear asking if the selected account is the correct one to link. 11. Successfully linked! An in-game advertisement feature has been added to the Counterside Global client. This will allow you to get a certain amount of Eternium, as well as free slot upgrades on the maximum number of unit and equipment slots. 1. Getting Free Daily Eternium 1. Click on the Eternium Icon on your main screen. 2. Click on the “Free” button to receive a free 1,000 Eternium after watching an advertisement. 3. Be careful! You cannot skip and receive the reward before you see the “Reward granted” button. 4. Successfully watching an advertisement will grant you 1,000 Eternium, and you can watch a total of 5 advertisements per day. 5. After successfully watching all 5, the amount of 5,000 Eternium will be added to your account. 2. Getting a Free Daily Unit Inventory Expansion 1. Access your Unit Inventory by clicking on “Management.” 2. Click “ + “ on the Unit Inventory expansion option. 3. Dear CEOs, The dev notes on the renewal of the combat equation and a few other abilities will be further explained below. 1. Combat Equation Improvement The damage output uses a very complicated equation using the attacker and defender’s various variables. The damage output also varies by a huge margin due to where the variable is placed in the equation, and which abilities are interacting with each other or in synergy with each other. Before the renewal of the combat equation, basic stats excluding ATK, DEF, EVA, and HIT were referred to as secondary stats. These secondary stats were irregularly placed in the equation, making them extremely difficult to handle. With the renewal of the combat equation, we have categorized every stat in CounterSide into groups 1, 2, and 3, as well as refined rules on the timing calculation of damage reduction and various other situations. ▷ Damage Output Equation Below is the equation for the final correction value of the damage, NOT the final damage itself. We used the correction value to make the overall explanation not too complicated for the readers. The total value of damage reduction inside Brackets {} including defense reduction % is capped at 80%. The total value of damage reduction inside the square brackets [] is capped at 50%. The maximum Role DISADV DMG DEC is 100% (= No Role ADV). Fixed damage: If the DMG RES value inside the Brackets {} is 1 or less, it will correct itself to 1. Extra Stat: Special stats that are used in a specific battle environment, such as PVE. (e.g. Barrier DMG debuff, etc.) With the exception of Sure CRIT, the maximum CRIT rate is 85%. With the exception of Sure CRIT, CRIT will not apply when the target evades. Rather than renewing and integrating the original stats, we decided to renew the existing equation rules, select stats that will be buffed and organize the equation within a practical boundary. Stat variables that were unorganized due to a series of multiplications, such as DMG RES, special skill DMG variations, ultimate skill DMG variations, and AoE DMG RES are now integrated into Group 2 stats, allowing Group 2 stats to cancel themselves. Original DMG RES Suppression, DMG RES Penetration, and DMG TLRNC (Tolerance) will be calculated in Group 1, and do not influence Group 2 stats. The maximum value for Group 1 and Group 2 is 80% and 50% respectively. Therefore, in theory, the final correction value for maximum DMG RES will increase more than before the renewal. Still, this value will be offset by DMG increase or by DMG Taken AMP, allowing us to find more efficient solutions. Below is the list of stats categorized into three different groups. (The arrow, →, indicates the stat moved from one group to another.) Role ADV DMG stats were previously in Group 1 and included a maximum DMG RES cap at 80%. In addition, these stats were used to adjust the fundamental 30% Role ADV DMG, all of which caused a lot of illusions. After the renewal, the Role ADV DMG INC stat has been moved to Group 3 to make the value independent, and since this value is used as an adjustment for the Role ADV DMG, the final damage dealt to the Role ADV DMG will be much stronger now. To summarize the combat equation improvement: Original DMG +/RES, Special Skill DMG + / RES, Ultimate Skill DMG + / RES stats have been integrated into Group 2 under AMP / RDC. Group 2’s stats AMP and RDC also cancel each other with a maximum value of 50%. Role ADV DMG stats are now free to increase their overall influence independently. 2. Ability Improvement ▷ CC RES The original CC RES was used to reduce the duration of abilities categorized as [debuff]. Just like skill haste, it ran on a logarithmic formula. Hence, when the CC RES reached 100%, the actual resistance was about 50%, making the overall efficiency of this ability drop when the value of CC RES increased. Therefore, other than to counter stun, silence, and sleep, this ability’s value was low, and unless it was extremely high, it was also difficult to increase the value of CC RES itself through an equipment’s sub-stats. To make this ability more meaningful, it will be renewed like so: Now the resistance value will not be calculated through a logarithmic formula, but through a simple addition with the value capping at 80%. The value of CC RES will greatly increase compared to before. RES Rate not only decreases debuff duration but also a debuff ability’s rate simultaneously. If 50% CC RES is applied to [50% ATK decrease for 10 seconds]: Before: 50% ATK decrease for 6.67 seconds (Actual RES rate 33.3%). After: 25% ATK decrease for 5 seconds. The value of CC RES can be negative (capped at -100%), and if CC RES goes negative, debuff duration and ability rate will increase. With the changes made to CC RES, we believe this ability will be used more effectively to counter debuffs. In addition to the buff to CC RES and the changes to the calculation of CC RES, sub-stats for this ability on equipment will also change. The number will drop taking into account the changes in both duration and debuff ability rates, the renewal of the RES rate formula, and the effect on debuffer units. As an example, a fully tuned T6 Maze Equipment with a CC RES sub-stat and its effect are listed below. ■ Incoming Healing and Healing Reflux Currently, if the value for incoming healing decreases and accumulates over 100% on a unit, the healing will reflux and will cause HP to decrease. Originally, healing reflux existed as an independent ability, but because it was not defined clearly, it was intermixed with incoming healing decrease. This intermix did not cause any issues in the gauntlet or in similar circumstances. However, there were instances in high-level PVE, in which healing patterns led to units accumulating incoming healing over 100%, or in which debuff immunity was essential in order to create a new healing-pattern enemy. To develop content of different levels and unique units with their own specialized characteristics, rules regarding incoming healing and healing refluxes will change like below: A new ability, “Healing Power”: The healing amount will increase in ratio with the caster’s healing power. This includes healing abilities cast on oneself. Incoming healing decreases and healing power cancel each other: Total heal amount = Incoming Healing * (1 + Healing Power – Incoming Healing decrease). Incoming healing decrease will never go below 0. Units and ships that originally had close to 100% incoming healing will not aim for healing reflux anymore but will counter the opponent’s HEALING POWER instead. 3. Changes in the Safety Zone in the Gauntlet The safety zone is defined as an area where the ship takes damage instead of the units. The safety zone was designed to allow the defensive side to cope with the incoming opponent’s units. Its function is to protect the tower class units or deploy units at the very end to pull the frontline, but initially, its main function was to provide a last line of defense that was highly appreciated. However, through the years of service, new tower class units were added to the game, some of which were very powerful. Unless we decide to stop making tower class units, we thought it would be impossible to change the meta just by individual balance change. With this update, the minimum deployment location point of the units in the gauntlet will change. However, the overall field area for a deployed unit to move around will be the same as before, so units going behind the safety area due to knockback or an opponent entering inside the safety zone will stay the same. After this update, we expect a few changes in gauntlet strategy and meta. We will keep a close eye on plays that target the ship directly since this is not something we intended. We will do our best to provide our CEOs with a great gaming experience. Thank you.

We sincerely apologize for any issues you may have encountered and will now present to you the contents we are currently preparing. ▣ Update Policy CounterSide started its official service in Korea, and there is a 2-year gap between the Korean and Global servers. During those two years, we were able to increase the quality of the game’s content, stories, characters, and skins, which we are confident will give our CEOs a great level of satisfaction. CounterSide is a story-based game whose stories branch out into numerous directions within CounterSide’s timeline. Most of the characters develop their personalities based on their experiences and reach out to the audience through their stories. In other words, the link between the stories and the release of new characters is very strong, and if the stories get released at a fast pace, then so will the new characters as well. Because there is a 2-year gap between the Korean and Global servers, we want to close this gap as soon as possible to allow our global audience to experience the new content released on the Korean server before it gets old. The joy of getting news of new character releases and enjoying that new content fast will be greater than having to wait for a long period after getting the news of new releases. We are well aware of the strain on our CEOs due to fast updates on the server, and we promise to compensate for it. We plan not only to release new stories and characters faster but also 1st and 2nd-anniversary rewards and huge events carried out on the Korean server. For more detailed information on the roadmap, please wait for September 2022. ▣ Official STEAM PC Client Release on the 1st of September 2022 On the 1st of September 2022, the official Counterside Global STEAM PC client will be released! High-quality graphical resources increase visual satisfaction but can strain some mobile devices and emulators due to high specifications. I can assure you that the PC client on STEAM will allow our CEOs to enjoy CounterSide in a smoother and more stable environment. However, some functions, such as advertisement rewards, will not be supported on the PC client. CEOs will be able to link their existing mobile accounts to STEAM to continue to enjoy the game! Don’t miss out on our STEAM launch events and packages as well as coupons given through our partner influencer’s livestreams! ▣ Launch 100th Day Event To celebrate the 100th day of service in Global, we would like to show our sincere appreciation to all of our CEOs! The 100th-day celebration event will begin on the 1st of September and will include free 100 rolls, a crafting event, a limited mission, and special punch-in attendance gifts! Come and celebrate the 100th day with us! ▣ 1st of September Update The STEAM release and an update to the game will proceed in parallel on the 1st of September. The update includes several qualities of life and system improvement updates already existing on the Korean server, along with a new event. Event episode 《Fateful Summer》 On CounterSide’s Global Discord, Reddit, and other communities, there were a lot of discussions about when the summer event will begin, although the topic of discussion was mainly the summer skins. As such, on the 1st of September, the event episode 《Fateful Summer》 and the summer skins will be incorporated! To shorten the schedule, event stories that usually open in a span of 3 weeks will be shortened to 2, while all the summer skins will be available on week 1. When this event was first introduced in Korea, the skins were sold in a time-limited fashion. However, now all the skins are on sale without any time limits, we thought it would be best to release them all at once and to make the stories available at a faster pace. We will make sure that shortening the event periods will not cause a tight schedule and have prepared extra events! Please enjoy CounterSide’s late summer! ▣ The TASKFORCE PLAN CounterSide’s guide missions are rather old content. In fact, the old guide missions were not enough to fulfill their purpose and the rewards were not attractive either. Regardless of the game service period, I believe it is important to have a mission system that helps beginners enjoy every single content featured in the game. That is where the TASKFORCE PLAN comes in. On the 1st of September, the TASKFORCE PLAN will be implemented while the previous guide missions will be closed. As we have announced the news in advance, please make sure to clear all the missions before the update to get the maximum number of items. After the update, CEOs who have already cleared the old guide missions will also be able to participate in the TASKFORCE PLAN missions again to acquire new guide mission rewards. ▣ Salary Negotiation Simplification In the survey that we conducted in June, there was a lot of feedback on the salary negotiation. Some people found negotiation animations and choices interesting, while a surprising number of CEOs admitted they are having trouble choosing the right options and buttons. Overall, the majority of CEOs had a hard time figuring out the system. The development team has put a significant amount of time into this inquiry and has decided to simplify the salary negotiation system. The simplified salary negotiation will be more convenient. It was difficult to let go of the old ways, but we wanted to help the CEOs who found this difficult to get used to. Therefore, we decided to improve the system. Furthermore, we believe that all the CEOs who want to play the game for a long time will also find this simplified version more comfortable. ▣ A New Beginning Capital Point Event The Capital Point Event is being featured as the 2.5 years anniversary event on the Korean server, and many CEOs have given very positive feedback on it. Considering how fast the global region’s progress speed is compared with the other regions’ progress speed, we believe that this kind of event should be implemented faster to help our CEOs grow and advance. Therefore, we decided to update the system right away, without having to wait for two years. The Global server’s Capital Point Event will begin after the implementation of the 1st of September update. Through this event, CEOs will be able to earn points at the Capital Points shop by clearing missions given at the bottom right (as shown above). An SSR Recruitment Selector Coupon, Set binaries, and other amazing rewards await! ▣ Stat System and PVP Gauntlet Safety Zone Improvement The Korean server has been in service for 2.5 years, so the overall damage output equation and partial abilities have been renewed, as the existing damage output equation was very complicated and difficult to use. As for the changes in the safety zone, we believe that defending the ship by using tower class employees gives too much defensive advantage. To balance it out, we have made the deployment location a little bit more forward than the original. [LINK] Please feel free to read the notice above if you are interested in this topic. ▣ Relic Challenge and Exclusive Gear Upgrade After completing Main Stream Episode 5, CEOs will be able to enter Relic Challenge. Relic Challenges are difficult stages that require special methods in order to be cleared. These challenges can be entered by spending eternium and offering the chance to farm for high-tier pieces of equipment. Considering the current pool of employees available in the Global server, only the 1st stage of the Relic Challenge will be opened. ▣ Shadow Palace [PALACE #4] Just like the challenge stages, Shadow Palace requires a specific strategy, and many retries to clear. We observed that many CEOs are actively participating in the Shadow Palace stages to acquire special gears with unique options. The 4th Palace requires a higher specification to clear, but we believe the current Global server is ready for the 4th Palace update, which will be more useful to those who farm for spectral gear. ▣ Side Story 《Left Behind Alone》 Added Sigma’s event episode, Left Behind Alone, will be added to the Side Story tab permanently! In CounterSide Global, we are focused on releasing new event episodes more than reruns of past events. Therefore, the lost chance to farm for items will be compensated through other events later. For other event episodes, we are coordinating the schedule to add them permanently to the Side Story tab. ▣ Regarding the Strategy Battle Gauntlet We have received much feedback on the renewed strategy battle gauntlet and its time of implementation and format. We sincerely apologize for not being able to deliver content that resulted in a joyful experience for all. Contents bound to the dev version like the strategy battle have limitations in separately managing an implementation. If it is completely new content, we will be able to release it based on progress, but base content like gauntlet is hard dependent on app updates due to its versioning mechanism. Therefore, starting from the planning stage, we acknowledged the implementation was quite early, hence we tried to add it when we thought was most suitable. In the end, it was not. We sincerely apologize again for our mistake. After listening to and reading your feedback, the strategy battle is gradually being revised to allow our CEOs to feel they are being rewarded for their victories, rather than feeling stressed for repeatedly being defeated and challenged. We will delete the old notification system that sends defeat in-game mails and come back with a much-improved system. At the end of the revision, we want to gradually adjust the defense merits to provide a sense of play satisfaction through a new reward system. If the goal is not met through a single revision, there may be several iterations, but we hope that all CEOs understand, as it is an effort to provide a better experience to all.
