A few days ago, we conducted an investigation into an unregistered communication log discovered in the headquarters database.

Although the witnesses initially appeared to be in normal condition, they exhibited severe signs of mental contamination when recalling the incident.

Attached is the reconstructed report based on all available witness testimonies.

At exactly midnight, the dark briefing room lay submerged in a silence so complete
that even a held breath felt intrusive.

Then, from the shadowed corner of the wall, the abandoned old radio convulsed with a sharp crackle— as if something inside it were struggling to claw its way out.

It was not simple static.
It was a rupturing, a grotesque tearing noise,
as though something was crawling up from behind the speaker.

At that moment, a faint sound drifted in from the darkness outside the deck.

A cat’s meow.

“…meow…”

But the sound twisted with every repetition.
The pitch faltered and stretched, becoming the clumsy imitation of some creature

 trying, and failing, to mimic a sound it had merely overheard.

And the radio answered with its own howl.

“…ah… aaah… o… gk…”

A sound no human could make.
A tremor no machine could replicate.
A voice belonging to neither the living nor the dead.

Moments later, another sound rolled through the room— a beast’s low growl.  

But it was too close, as if something were breathing just behind someone’s ear.

The ship’s sensors erupted with simultaneous warnings.  

But the analysis displayed only one message:

“Detected lifeforms: none.”

Then a shadow moved.

It crossed the room without touching the floor, wall, or air.  

A streak of darkness sliding through space without a single footstep or whisper.

It murmured something the machines could not interpret.  

Whispers rose from behind the walls, the ceiling, the floor—
circling, approaching, retreating, circling again.

A new voice burst from the radio.

“Ahah— ahahahaha—!”

Laughter followed.
But not the laughter of anything living.

It was the dry clatter of hollow things knocking together inside an empty chest.

“…it… it watches us… mocks us…”

The red emergency lights flickered violently.
The room’s temperature collapsed.
Every breath escaped as pale, trembling mist.

Then the door slammed open.

A soldier stumbled in.
Half of his body was swallowed by the red fog, writhing like living tentacles dragging him forward.

With the last scraps of breath he forced out,

“They… have awakened…!”

Before he could finish,
The red fog seized him whole and dragged him screaming into the corridor’s darkness.

Silence settled into the room like dust.

The radio did not stop.

Metal scraping, a child’s giggle, an animal’s howl—
fractured voices jammed together into a single, warped proclamation.

“The feast of knowledge is prepared.
The banquet begins.
Imperfect beings… be made whole.”

Then, beyond the window—
a vast shadow coiled around the ship’s hull.

Tentacles.
Dark, slick, glistening with a wet sheen.
Every inch covered in dozens of red eyes, pressed against the glass as if peering into the room.

The ship’s outer plating screamed.
Metal bent and warped—a slow, agonizing groan that rattled deep in the crew’s bones.

Lights snapped violently.

For the briefest instant,  the ship’s emblem on the wall writhed like living flesh,  twisting into a sigil no one recognized.

And then—

A soft, painfully familiar woman’s voice flowed from the terminal.

“I will not let you activate it.
You’ve already lost.”

From the lower deck, the sound of dragging metal echoed through the dark.
Something shifted behind a barely-open door. Someone—or something—was moving.

The door creaked open.  And then everything was swallowed.

In the briefing room, every sound vanished at once.

Not peace.
Not rest.
